On the same convention where I cosplayed Ty Lee on Saturday, I got a request from a hungarian Star Trek Club. They wanted to do a Fashion Show with Star Trek outfits, and they asked me if I can dress up as a Risa girl. If you don’t remember, Risa is a holiday planet, where you can rest and have fun with the girls. It would be very hard to do one of the designs from the series because they are too revealing, they used materials that I had no chance to get, and I had not too much time. So we designed this girl, Rubine. She wears red dresses because of her name and she is an event organizer on the planet. Rubine is still not a full character, but I think she likes to dance and talk a lot with others. I imagine her intelligent and well informed, and of course she has a great ability for organizing! The top was coming from my wardrobe (it is a bellydancer top) and I had to sew the skirt. I was very nervous because I was not so experienced back then, but I made it! At one of the Living Dream Project Photoshoots we made some photos too! 🙂
Q & A:
Is it hard to wear it? – Not really. These shoes were killing me, but they were ruined some years ago so I reworked it to Gazelle shoes, and have a brand new killing red shoes 😀
Is it available now for a convention? – Absolutely, the only problem is with wearing this that nearly nobody will recognize it. :/
Is it hard to bring this cosplay to far away? – Nope. I can easily pack it in a backpack or suitcase. I just need to iron it before I take it on!
Will you upgrade this cosplay? – I don’t think so. There is no point in upgrading it, it is much more like a nice memory about that day!
